How does the cryo-pen work ?
Freeze pen cryo surgery uses extreme cold, from liquid nitrogen, to freeze and dry out skin growths without damaging the surrounding healthy skin. This is effective for treating a skin growth like skin tags, warts, tumors, cysts, and certain eyelid and lip issues.
Will my pet need anesthesia?
Lesions are assessed on a case-by-case basis, most of the time, no sedation is required. Sedation is mild, similar to the protocol used to obtain radiographs and is meant to decrease stress level and achieve steadiness during the procedure.
Will my pet require pre-procedure blood work?
Typically, No.
However, If your pet is sick or requires medications for any condition, routine blood work may then be required.
How is recovery? Will my pet need to wear a cone?
This procedure is non invasive, no or minimal fur clipping may be required. No stitches are needed and your pet will not need to wear a cone after.
How long will this take and do I need to make an appointment?
An appointment is required. Procedure duration varies according to the number of lesions treated and their location. But in general duration is remarkably shorter than conventional procedure involving surgical excision.
